Norwegian defenseman Jonas Holøs has rejected an offer of what I have to believe was a two-way contract with the Avs.

He's quoted in saying: "Colorado wants me to come over right away, but that's primarily to follow my development even closer, and to make me play for their farm team. My impression is that they are very interested (in me). I don't feel quite ready yet and want to finish my contract with Färjestad, which runs to the end of the 09/10 season."

Färjestad last season both won the regular season and the playoffs in the SEL, and during summer five of Holøs' teammates have signed for NHL clubs; Jonas Gustavsson and Rickard Wallin (Toronto), Johan Motin (Edmonton), Mikael Johansson (Montreal) and Dick Axelsson (Detroit).

"In the NHL, it's all about having a winning mentality. It's about going all the way in the playoffs and winning the Stanley Cup. This is why NHL teams feel safer getting players from championship winning teams from Europe. The interest from Colorado and the fact they are scouting me, makes me even more motivated."
