"The more I think about it the more I want to see all my opportunities," he said — and why, when it comes to a potential return to the Lightning, he did not shoot down a suggestion he might be willing to take less salary than he could get elsewhere.
"I know what's going on around the league, it's not just the Lightning," said the center, who in February 2008 was dealt to the Stars in the Smith deal. "You look at any team, the salary cap, there are different structures with different teams. So, as a player you'd be stupid not to be open-minded and flexible because you want to see what all your options are."
Not negotiable is going to a franchise with stable ownership.
"That's huge," Richards said. "After what I've gone through with Tampa (in the transition to Oren Koules and Len Barrie) and what I've gone through in Dallas, I'm sick of it."
He also wants a long-term deal "to get some security and settle into a place I want to go."
"If the Lightning is going to talk to me, I'm going to listen, for sure," Richards said. "I'm not going to waste their time, but if they want to talk to me and be serious, it's going to be a team that catches my attention."

"Yzerman said he's not going to just draft someone to fill a need, they are going to draft the best player that they think is left. I read an article about Ken Hollands draft strategy and he said it best, after the 1st round you are looking at a player that is probably 4-5 years away from playing in the NHL so you have no idea what your needs will be in 4-5 years so you draft the best player available. Plus theres is an article or video where Yzerman says this draft was kind of a weak one so they felt they could take a risk or two and draft some high end talent. They didn't care that they were from Russia because "the good ones from Russia always come over to try to make it in the NHL" . If there isn't a good enough defenseman to draft then why draft someone just to draft him. I really like what Yzerman and company did for this draft with the picks that they have."

legalább fél éve volt a bemutató sajttáj. azóta a gatyát már lecserélték, rákerült újra a villám szerencsére. ha még felcserélnék a vállon található logót a mellkasival, egész jó lenne.
azzal, hogy ugyanaz a két szín, mint a leafs, nem tudok mit csinálni. mindenképpen változtatni akartak, hogy új jersey legyen az új vezetéshez. le akarták egyszerűsíteni és ezt választották. ezzel sajnos pont azt nyírták ki, amitől eddig egyedi volt a mezünk (fekete és ezüst).

az előző scout staff megkapta a tavalyi évet még ajándékba, idén már nem sok értelme lett volna nekik belevágni. mondjuk nyilván így kuka az egész éves munkájuk, de az új főnöknél logikus volt, hogy hozza a saját embereit.
a draftunk pedig kifejezetten ígéretes lett. szerintem az elmúlt évek egyik legjobb alakítása volt összességében

Namestnikov was born in Russia, but learned to skate in suburban Detroit. Growing up near Detroit and having an uncle who played with the team gave Namestnikov unique access to players like Yzerman, Nicklas Lidstrom and Brendan Shanahan during the Wings' Stanley Cup runs during the 1990s.
"I was about 6 years old and my uncle would always take me," said Namestnikov. "I got to meet all of them. I was just so happy when I got home. It was great experience growing up."
Of all the players, though, Yzerman was his favorite, which made Friday that much more exciting for him.
"It's unbelievable," said Namestnikov. "I don't even know how to express the feelings I have right now. It's great. … He remembered me when I was a little kid."
Yzerman is as happy as Namestnikov to have drafted the highly-talented center, who returned to North America in 2010-11 to play with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League. The 6-foot, 166-pound forward had a team-high 30 goals and was second on the team with 68 points.

The Lightning in the past few weeks retooled its scouting department, hiring five amateur scouts and letting go four.
Added were Brian Putnam, John Rosso, John Burkart, Rob Kitamura and Brad Whelan. Michel Boucher also was promoted from part time to full time.
The hires come at the end of a yearlong evaluation process that began with the hiring of Murray.
"We wanted to take some time and assess where we were going and how we wanted to have things run," Yzerman said. "We appreciate the work those gentlemen (let go) did for us, but we felt it was time to make some changes and add some people Al particularly wanted to work with."
