I can't stop to mention my thoughts of rumours I've read about these days. I think several fans (hope not to hurt anybody) lost their sense of reality. Let me see firstly inside the team. Luongo, Schneider, Ballard, Raymond, Booth, and CoHo were the most popular in these threads. Just see the facts without emotions. Luongo has a life-long NTC contract with a 5,33M/year cap hit which is unpayable for any team he wouldn't refuse immediately. Schneider is still a backup goalie whose value is increasing fast so Gillis will wait to decide about his fate during the trade deadline. Ballard can be in a minor (for a 3rd or lower draft pick) cap-saving trade before a huge one or can be sold out only in a pack. Raymond hasn't got a value on the market, without knowing how he can play after his serious injury. Booth is a new-comer and fits in our second line while CoHo's trading would be a big mistake because he worths a lot more than we could gain for him. Rumours relate us with Ryan, Carle, Ohlund, Lecav, and Turris in which I can hardly ever believe. Ryan and Carle would be great but who wants to trade Kesler, Hamhuis or Edler for them? I'm sure nobody but you should know that they are on the same price. Lecavalier will be traded from Tampa Bay when Crosby moves to Philly and Ohlund has an awful contract. He has got the same type like Ballard's in ours even if I'd love to see him in Canucks jersey again it has to be seen that Keith is better now. Turris would have been an oportunity only before the Booth trade. To sum up, I think we won't have any line-up changes during the trade deadline or there will be a major trade with two or three players with draft picks which will be painful for dreamers. But in my opinion the first alternative is the reality.
We've just finished our very strong Movember. We had 13 games with 9-4-0 (8-2-0 in last 10) which is league-second behind the most hatred Boston Bruins but we only played four times at home and has a five straight winning-streak with our backup goalie in the net, so nobody can be dissatisfied now. Against the Jacks we had a lot of chances and they had too, there were 82 shots alltogether, and with Sanford's and Schneidi's outstanding performance, Kesler's great runs, Johansen's effort (he is a BC native and there were 200 supporting friends amongst the rows) it seemed like an All-Star game for me with tremendous hits on the ice. I don't know the exact stats but I think there were about 30+ blocked and nearly 20 missed shots which are huge amounts too. And the referees did their jobs as they will in Ottawa, they didn't make many calls (clear offsides and obvious penalties) but who cares, two more points are in the bag. I wasn't surprised that Cory became the first star of the game, he had some unbelievable saves, now he has been playing on his career-best. Kesler is awesome too and with Booth they have a great chemistry. The Sedins' line brings the patience, Kesler's shows danger in every shift, the fourth is a typical gritty line, I"ve been only missisng the speed of CoHo's since some matches. I hope that AV can celebrate his 250th win against Nashville we'll see.
After eliminating a team in the playoff, the first match next season against it is always a war. But it wasn't, we had a great, entertaining game with the Sharks, where only Schneider was the difference. There was a fight between Volpatti and Winchester but they rematched because of the pre-season not a post-season revenge. I can imagine if Marleau's breakaway in the first minute had found the net, they would have executed us, but Cory made it and they couldn't boost up. When Niemi got MM's fluke goal (congrat for the 800th match in the league), I was thinking Boucher's historical SO record as a Coyote, and prayed that the goal which will end Schneider's streak don't be so foolish. Fortunately, it wasn't, Murray had a great goal. In the second, both team played extremely well, but we could find the way to score, they didn't and after the intermission we tried to keep the difference which we have reached (more or less). I think our second line was the best, Booth had very nice moves and hit the crossbar, Higgins was very dangerous in front of the net and Kes started to find his last year's solidity. All in all, it was a typical one-goal game, now we had the one more, but this San Jose is undisputedly the strongest in the Pacific. In three goals nine players had a point, and we were perfect in powerplay. (When the Sharks' fans swang their hands like a mouth of a shark this vid came to my mind)
And the comment of the game: twin brothers from the same mother. wtf? :D
Cory Schneider will get his seventh consecutive start in net while Roberto Luongo watches from the bench for the fifth straight game since returning from an upper-body injury.
gyorsan bedobok 1 tippet azt léptem is....
3-2OT WIN (Kesler,Higgie baby,Edler)
ja amúgy a a november hónap véget ért,szal mindenki 0 pontról indul ÚJRA..sok sikert a demberhez is...
a novemberi helyzések.
szezon végén maj' összesítés,addig kitalálok valami jó kis díjat,ösztönzés képpen.
oh és Ray játszik ha minden igaz 3. soros lesz...bár úgy is olvastátok szal ne ismétlek.
byby!
3-2 (Kesler,Hamhuis,Daniel)
Now, we are at the one fourth of the regular, so I'll sum up the team one by one but firstly here are some thoughts around the entire team.
It is well-known that we are one of the slowest teams in the league at the beginning of the season and this pre-conception won't change in the near future seeing our October. We had a terrible start which cannot be explained by Kesler's absence, we were blanked three times in seven games and won only four games in regular from the first 11 with a disgusting 3.00 goals against average. We made a lot of scoring chances but we were unable to finish them and our guys lost their confidence very fast. Salo and Edler were brilliant and MadMax warmed the ice, the Sedin twins had a solid performance too but I cannot raise up any lines who could work consistantly, so I wasn't surprised that AV tried a lot of formations and almost all possible D-pairings. And don't waste a word for Luongo, he had his worst start in his career for sure. But if I'm not mistaken all hoary fans counted it in the season. Only after we were beaten by the Blues, I've lost my mind and started worrying a bit which was unfounded. If somebody has a look at the schedule, he can see that we played the least game at home in the western conference, had 14 of 23 away and according to today's standings 61% of our opponents will earn a playoff spot and we beat nearly all (7of 9) of non-playoff teams. So we had a very hard season-opening schedule and our near future is so bright, because we are only 4 points behind the Conference-leader Blackhawks and our next eight games will be against teams all under the line. In this calendar year, we will have 16 games with only four solid teams (Toronto, Minnesota, Detroit and San Jose) so it is not a crazy idea that we are going to celebrate the New year's Eve on the top of the league which will due to happen.
maybe next time bro
De igen tippnek! Azthisze d h árverlek??! Adok én neked!! :D
Last time I tallied my opinion about East-West games, but the Ottawa-Toronto-Montreal trio is different from the others, because they are Canadien derbies. Oh yes, Winnipeg too, I was so happy that we have an other team in the league. I've been waiting for the battle on 8th of March so much. Against the Sens it was an ugly win, with two great performances, Cody and Cory. Schneider was absolutaley the first star in this game, he showed strong confidence with great puck-handling and perfect gloving. I think he was solid against Chicago too, but on this day he brought the two points to the team. CoHo was the second star for me, he didn't earn any points but he played very dangerously in his every shift, had three shots, hand-eyed passes, aggressive chases, so I'm so satisfied with him. Which I can't tell about Manny. I believe now, that the team would be better without him. If he isn't able to change, when MayRay is ready, MM will be scratched. I hope he can boost up, because we need the good-old Malhotra into the lines. I didn't missed Ballard in the defence, Alberts and Rome play very solidly, Andrew is fearless and a tipycal stay-at-home D, in turn Aaron is offensive enough to work well together. But to tell the truth, the Senators played a little better on this game. The first period was a draw, but they were better in the second. In the first one-third of the third period we did a great pressure, but after taht long shift of the Sedins, Ottawa clearly overplayed us. We were lucky that Schneids raved about victory. The Avs is down now, it should be an easy win, but Colorado vs Vancouver is always an overheated battle.
It was a kind of celebrations' day and the Avalanche assisted for that in a very friendly way. In the first 10 minutes we were a bit sleepy, had some icings but after that we played quite well. Above, I was writing about Malhotra's role in the team, and what a wonder, against the Avs he played absolutaley different from the previous 20 games' performances. He has celebrated his first goal of the season which was a game winner too but he has to be grateful to CoHo who did a teeny miracle on the ice. After leading, we played very patiently which was evolved by Schneider's confidence. He made some big saves, covered the puck when it needed, kept in play by his stick peremptorily which surprised me a bit, because mostly European goalies have this brave stick-handling style. He deserved his 2nd career SO but I think the Avalanche was able to make scoring chances only if they were in powerplay. Kesler's empty net goal was heart-warming on his 500th NHL game all within the Canucks and with this win Vigneault became the winningest coach in our franchise's history with 247 (Crawford needed 98 more games to reach 246). The two funny points of the game were Burrows and special teams. Burr can't pick up a single point at home but now he has got 10 away. And the two organizations started the night with the first and second-ranked PP% in the NHL but they combined 0 for7.
I haven't seen a Yotes game in this season but it is not hard to express that they possibly had the worst match of the year against us yesterday. I had seen some hockey games without penalties, some scoreless games too but I can't remember for a game when a team cannot make a scoring chance in 60 minutes since Bulgaria's national women team lost to Slovakia 82-0 three years ago. They (Coyotes) had a disgusting game, but I'm not too sad about it. Cody was tested once in the first and twice in the third, I hope that he didn't catch a cold on the ice, With this back-to-back SO Luongo can be worried a bit, but I'm sure that he cheered by soul because of his backup's success. So we ruled the game, Schneider's patience sticked over the others spectacularly, Bieksa's positioning, CoHo's ehthusiasm, the willing of the Kesler's line, Lapierre's fantastic spin-o-rama backhander were all fascinating. And Hank's post was priceless, if he had wanted to miss it, he wouldn't have been able to. Now, we are on top, I only wish a shorthanded goal, we should have scored minimum three or four in the season. I have been waiting for the Sharks, I'm so curious that Cory can continue his streak or not.
"Cory Schneider will start tonight in SJ. Mason Raymond is ready, but will be a game time decision."
