Would the Rangers be interested in Martin Havlat? According to Steve Zipay's blog the Blackhawks are shopping around for interest, including from the Rangers.
Chicago is currently over their salary cap, and have reportedly being trying to trade Khabibulin to Los Angeles (though that deal may have fallen through).
Havlat's has one year remaining at $6M, but has been incredibly injury prone

hát ezzel a tréddel nem tudom mit akart sather. gyakorlatilag négy védőnk maradt és nem tudom honnan fogunk szerezni minimum hármat. marat és jasont irassuk alá, sanguinetti pedig jöhet a farmból mint ahogy azt megjósolták sokan.

John Dellapina's latest update in his his blog has the Rangers pursuing both Mats Sundin and fellow Swede Markus Naslund. Jaromir Jagr also thinks the Rangers will not be looking to resign him.

sather nem hülye, tavaly is szidtuk(sőt minden évben) de aztán behúzta a két legjobb ufa centert. alá fogja iratni dawest, sjoströmöt már nem biztos.
redden behúzásával mara és malik megy, ketten együtt majd 5 miller. strud minimumért alá fog írni bevethető bármikor 6.-7. védőnek vagy uccsó sorba lwnek.

két napig nem kerülök gép elé és mi van itt.
redden nem rossz, a fizuja kicsit sok de ha belegondolok abba mit kapott green vagy cambell akkor elfogadható. tény, hogy nem ment nki annyira az elmúlt másfél évben a sensnek de ez a sens sem az a csapat már amelyik az elmúlt két évben bármikor bárkit szarrá vert. szóval jó lesz neki a levegőváltozás.
rozsi fizuja teljesen korrekt, #1 védő. lásd cambell.
jagr és sather szerintem meg fognak tudni egyezni nem lesz gond. sather megadja neki a két éves szerződést és akkor jagr is hajlandó a lóvéból engedni.
vali resigned
avery nem válaszolt sather hívására, állítólag most a dallas keresi.

The NY Post reports that Pat Brisson, the agent for Jaromir Jagr has been talking with Glen Sather this week on a contract extension.
The challenge appears to be the number of years, with Jagr looking for a multi-year deal, and Sather looking for a one-year deal so he can defer bonus money into next season.

Jaromir Jagr held a press conference today in the Czech Republic to discuss various things. The Hockey Rodent has a translation on his website. Highlights include Jagr saying that Glen Sather has not yet reached out to him, and that reports of a meeting with Anatoly Bardin of Omsk were not true.
He also says numbers reported in the press are grossly inflated from what was being offered in Russia.
Also perhaps of interest, Martin Straka has not agreed to play in the Czech Republic, and according to Jagr, may have a desire to play another year on Broadway.
In other news, Pierre LeBrun reports for Sportsnet that Omsk has approached both Martin Straka and Michal Rozsival to see if they can't get them in a package with Jagr.

New York, NY (Sports Network) - New York Rangers defenseman Michal Rozsival will undergo surgery to repair a labral tear in his left hip, according to the team's web site.
Rozsival is expected to make a full recovery in four to six weeks.
The 29-year-old defenseman from the Czech Republic had 13 goals and 38 points in 80 games last season. He also had one goal and six points in 10 playoff games.

John Dellapina takes to task the rumors surrounding a possible return of John Tortorella to the Rangers as head coach in his blog.
Rumors had the recently fired former Tampa and Rangers (interim) head coach returning to New York, with Tom Renney heading back upstairs. Tortorella himself bristled at the rumors, saying he had the utmost respect for a fellow coach whom he has kept in close contact with.
According to the Daily News, Glen Sather is yet to budge from his $2.75M per year offer to Sean Avery. John Dellapina goes on to report that Avery is looking for at least $3.5M per year, though other reports have certainly indicated higher numbers.
The story also goes on to suggest that the one year contract with deferred bonuses for a 35+ year old player, would be a way for the Rangers to find a way to fit Jaromir Jagr into the mix.
