The Adirondack Flames were defeated 4-2 by the Rockford IceHogs on Thursday evening at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
Michael Ferland and Corban Knight each registered their first goals of the season in the defeat. Goaltender Brad Thiessen made 35 saves in a losing effort in his first full performance in net during the 2014-15 campaign.

WIDEMAN MARKET ISN’T WIDE OPEN…YET
Calgary Flames defenseman Dennis Wideman saw third-pairing minutes during the club’s season-opener against Vancouver last Wednesday and was a healthy scratch for the Flames’ second game of the season versus the Edmonton Oilers. He returned to the lineup Saturday against the St. Louis Blues, logging more than 22 minutes of ice time.
The decision by coach Bob Hartley to sit Wideman, the Flames’ highest-paid player ($5.25 million per season), could resurrect the trade speculation which cropped up last month about the 31-year-old blueliner.
Mike Heika of The Dallas Morning News recently responded to a reader’s question about the Stars perhaps pursuing Wideman. Heika believed they might be interested but considered it a tough trade to make, citing Wideman’s cap hit and the Flames’ asking price as potential stumbling blocks.
Wideman could address the Stars’ need for a right-handed defenseman. The Detroit Red Wings and Anaheim Ducks share a similar need. Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, however, recently reported Flames GM Brad Treliving shot down the notion of trading Wideman because Wideman carries a full no-movement clause.
Should Wideman end up in Hartley’s doghouse throughout this season, he could become amenable to a change of scenery, especially if it’s to a club deeper in talent like Anaheim, Dallas or Detroit.

Kenny Agostino scored the first goal in Adirondack Flames franchise history, his first career AHL goal, while Ben Hanowski collected his first point of the season with an assist. Joni Ortio made 28 saves in defeat.

kezdjük hátulról:
-a kapunkat tekintve mindenképp hatalmas előrelépés a tavalyi évhez képest, hogy most van egy normális kapusunk Hiller! Nincs bajom Ramo-val nehogy azt higgyétek, de azért Hiller mellett szerintem Ő is és Ortio is tud majd fejlődni!
- a védelmünket nézve nagyon örülök, hogy végre meg szabadultunk Butler-től meg Smith-től is.. most már csak az a kérdés, hogy akik a helyükre érkeztek mit alakítanak..
Diaz-ban én is látok valami pluszt és örülök, hogy aláírtunk Vele, viszont Engelland ennyi pénzért mit fog csinálni arra nagyon kíváncsi leszek.. Potter lesz valószínű a fel-le küldözgetős védő és Wideman-ért még mindig sokallom a $5,250,000(reméljük idén nem lesz sérült és tesz is érte..)
szóval itt nem számítok nagyon változásra, de remélem azért néha kapnak a fiatalok is majd lehetőséget (Wotherspoon, Sieloff, Ramage, Culkin, Cundari)
- csatársorainkban a legnagyobb kérdés, hogy Cammy helyett kihozza majd azt a pontmennyiséget!? Raymond+Setoguchi?
egy verőlegény ment és egy új jött. Bollig szimpibb, mint Westgarth volt. majd a 4. sorba hadakozhat McGrattan-nel, hogy épp kiverjen le kit.
de igazából ami a legfontosabb, JG megkezdheti az első egész szezonját fent és hogy felvegye az NHL tempót!
amit viszont nagyon sajnálok, hogy több fiatal nem kapott lehetőséget (Ferland, Baertschi, Jooris, Granlund, Knight). na de majd év közbe!
összességében én úgy gondolom, hogy hasonló évünk lesz, mint tavaly, talán egy kicsit gyengébb, de a Drafton a top3-ba leszünk szerintem úgyhogy reális a McDavid - Eichel - Hanifin hármasból valaki!

Corban Knight scored his first goal of the pre-season for Adirondack as Garnet Hathaway and Bill Arnold each picked up an assist. Flames goaltender Brad Thiessen finished the night with 21 saves in defeat.
