"For me it's Roy" - Jacques Demers
According to former head coach of the Montreal Canadiens Jacques Demers, the best candidate to lead the Habs Patrick Roy.
"If I were CEO, would be Patrick Roy I would choose," said Demers straightforward to show "Team spirit" in TVA Sports on Tuesday.
Randy Cunneyworth, a unilingual anglophone, was named interim head coach of the Montreal team last Saturday. Demers, who led the Canadiens to the Stanley Cup triumph in 1993, believes that there must be not only a new generation to aspire to the position of head coach, but a candidate who can speak French.
"For me it's Roy. I have no doubt that it will become a great coach in the NHL, he added. It has a lot of maturity. "
While Demers believes that hiring an instructor who speaks the language of Molière is desirable, it is however in disagreement with the treatment received Cunneyworth to date.
"I find it unfair to Cunneyworth what we do is an honest guy who decided after his career to coach," said one who sits on the Senate. "Now it is called as a coach, it's not his fault. The responsibility lies with the Canadiens organization to ensure that there is one, but none had. "
He has shown the door by the Canadiens in 1995, however, can understand the motives that prompted the Director General Pierre Gauthier to dismiss Jacques Martin.
"Gauthier said that if he continued with Martin, he could not make the playoffs, he said. He said that if he brought Cunneyworth, who is loved by the guys, it would change. At least I hope he thought so. "
Early in the season, the former assistant coach Kirk Muller Canadians was hired by the Carolina Hurricanes for replacing head coach Paul Maurice.
"When Muller was hired, it was not going well for Canadians, he said. Why did they squandered Muller? It would have been a good coach. Even if he does not speak French, people would have liked to have it, yet it seems to be a problem in the case of Cunneyworth ... "

Unilingual anglophone coach "unacceptable"
MONTREAL - More than 80% of francophone Quebecers do not approve the appointment of a unilingual anglophone at the helm of the Montreal Canadiens, according to a Leger Marketing poll exclusive QMI Agency.
The decision to appoint Randy Cunneyworth Saturday as the new head coach of the Canadiens, after the dismissal of Jacques Martin, not like at all francophones: 83% of them find this unacceptable.
In addition, 69% of hockey fans, French and English, believe that this decision is unacceptable.

"This is truly the grumbling we measured against the Montreal Canadiens. For an organization that is there to please his supporters, it's never nice to have results like that, "said Christian Bourque, vice-president of Leger Marketing.
Is the direction of Canadians doing enough to ensure a Francophone presence? No, according to 75% of supporters.
"Ninety-three per cent, it is not only a majority of francophone Quebecers. It is virtually unanimous that people say we is not doing enough for Canadians, "said Bourque.
Another sign of dissatisfaction with the job: the proponents have little hope that this change will boost the Habs. According to the survey, 66% do not believe that Randy Cunneyworth come to give new life to the team.
Yet half of the supporters believe that Randy Cunneyworth is a good choice to replace Jacques Martin.
And that should have been appointed to replace the latter as head coach? The former goaltender Patrick Roy tops the favorites, followed by former team driver, Guy Carbonneau and Bob Hartley, Kirk Muller and Guy Boucher.

The NHL will not suspend Erik Cole for his hit on Adam Larsson.
In fact, the league decided it wasn't even necessary to hold a hearing regarding what has been called a head shot. After a slow start, the solid power forward has been playing very well. He has 22 points in 33 games overall.

Surprised by the dismissal of Jacques Martin on Saturday morning, Patrick Roy said Sunday he was not contacted by the organization of the Montreal Canadiens, nor by Pierre Karl Peladeau, trying to get a grant from the National Hockey League in Quebec City.
"Everyone was surprised by the dismissal of Jacques Martin, myself included. Canadians were awarded in a good position, but they want to make the playoffs. (...) The General Manager Pierre Gauthier did not have much choice. The decision was certainly a difficult one, as Gauthier and Martin are longtime friends, "said Roy during his press conference following the match of the Quebec Remparts at the Pepsi Coliseum.
Roy assures that it was not privy to in the hours before the return of Martin.
"No, I have not been contacted. I do not want to put pressure on the Canadiens. As for Pierre Karl Peladeau, I never discussed this possibility (to become the first coach of the Renaissance).
"I know that many people are interested, but honestly, if I had one day of discussions, they would remain private. Finally, I have no control over that. "
Open to offers
Roy did not deny it tends an ear to a job in the NHL, but in due course.
"Right now, my priority, it is the Quebec Remparts. That's why yesterday (Saturday) I did not want to answer these questions. I want my guys to know that my head is here! "

Média részéről, van ilyen elvárás, de pl. a játékosok felé nem annyira. Persze anno, Sakut ezzel ba ták eleget. Cunney nem tud franciául, szóval, ha maradni akar, tanulhatja intenzíven. 
Vagy nyáron idehozzuk Pat Roy-t, ő aztán perfekt. |

Ugyanaz az eredmény mint tegnap

Mintha az előző meccset ismételték volna meg. Ugyanaz az eredmény, megint mi voltunk fölényben (bár nem annyira, mint egy nappal korábban) és újabb vereség lett a vége. Lassan mumus lesz a Royals, bár azért hébe-hóba mi is tudunk győzni.
Mitchell góljára kettővel még feleltünk, Thompson és Lombardi fordítottak. Erre viszont ismét négyet kaptunk. Amikor Crowder a második harmad végén szépített, már elment a meccs.
Killeen 18 védéssel megint betlizett, amit megint nem bírt el a csapat. Dame-Malka sem élete formáját hozta, -3-mal zárta az estét.
