David Broll - Forward - Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds
Broll is a big bruiser who is definitely one of the most physical players available from the OHL. And while he might be best known from his brutal knockout at the hands of Justin Sefton this year, Broll is a solid power forward prospect. His skating improved a bit this year (although still needs work), and he might even be more effective cutting some of that 225lbs frame down. One criticism I've heard, and I've actually witnessed first hand, is that he can be too cute offensively. Not really something you hear about power forwards too often. But he can prone to overhandling the puck and spending too much time away from the net. He'd be better suited in simplifying his offensive game to the point of crashing the net and being that BBP (thanks Pierre McGuire) in front of the opposing goaltender. You don't like to stifle the offensive creativity of a forward, but I think he'd be better for it. There's also the mysterious one game team suspension he got towards the end of the season. Depending on the specifics of the event, that might scare NHL teams off. I really could see him going anywhere in the draft; from as high as the 2nd round (see Dalton Smith last year) to late rounds.

Tony Cameranesi, Wayzata (Minn.): The senior captain finished the year with 17 goals, 63 points and a plus-38 rating in 28 games, including 2 goals, 9 points and a plus-9 rating in three state sectional playoff contests for the Trojans. Cameranesi is headed for the University of Minnesota-Duluth in the fall.
The 5-9, 160-pounder is on this list for one reason and one only: his skating. He is perhaps the best skater in the entire draft with tremendous acceleration, speed and agility. He plays with a high energy level and never stops moving his feet. The explosive little waterbug is going to the University of Minnesota-Duluth and is a draft wildcard for sure, but is someone to watch as he matures and develops. If he can prove he has the sense to go with his wheels, he could get a shot in the big show eventually.

Sometimes overlooked when thrown in with Sweden's other impressive defenders, Nilsson can sometimes be the most dangerous weapon they have. Nilsson can flat out hit and he loves to do it. His physical play during the U18 tournament was impressive to say the least and changed the momentum in his team's favor on several occasions. A part from his deceivingly good physical play, Nilsson is fairly well rounded and can be counted on to do what is asked of him. His skating can still improve but overall Nilsson is a player who really thrust himself into the draft discussion with his end of year play.
Hard-hitting D-man with offensive upside.

Josh Leivo from September-December vs. Josh Leivo the second half of the season are about as much of polar opposites as you’ll find in any prospect in this draft. After barely establishing himself as an OHL caliber player during the first half of his rookie season, Leivo maintained a PPG pace throughout the second half and went on to become one of the biggest revelations during the OHL playoffs. He’s a big winger who has a good mind for the game and knows where to go on the ice. Has good anticipation and can play the PK as well. Could be a pretty big steal if he can continue to build on the latter part of his rookie season.

TORONTO - Rick Dudley is joining the Toronto Maple Leafs front office, the team announced by its Twitter account Friday.
Dudley had been the general manager of the Atlanta Thrashers for one year before the team was moved to Winnipeg this spring. The 62-year-old Toronto native was told three weeks ago that his services would not be needed in Manitoba by team owners True North Sports and Entertainment.
Kevin Cheveldayoff was chosen as the new GM of the Winnipeg Jets.
The Maple Leafs did not specify what Dudley's role or title will be.
Dudley had previously been a GM with the Ottawa Senators, Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers and has also coached the Panthers and Buffalo Sabres

Liles még egy évig keres 4,2M-t, utána UFA. Simán befér, mert van helyünk bőven.

Nagyon boldog volt amikor kihúztuk, mivel Leafs fanként nőtt fel. Az azért komoly, hogy tavaly kihúztuk a legjobb agitatort Brad Ross személyében (akiért szintén felcseréltünk) idén pedig ismét a legkeményebb playát. Backeshez és Lucichoz hasonlítják..nem hangzik rosszul. :) Szép nagy állat aki kőkemény a palánknál, elég ritkán veszít ütközetet, és emellett még a keze is ügyes. Örülünk. Könnyen lehet belőle egy 2nd line Powerforward.

Nagyon sokan írták hozzánk, tipikus Burke-type playa ahogy már Z is írta itt, és akire nagy szükségünk van. Az egyik legjobb erőcsatár a drafton, mindenbe belemegy amit lát, imádni való kölyök..kell majd neki 1-2 év, de sokat várhatunk tőle, mindenképp jó húzás.

Nos. Gardiner és Blacker után egy újabb puck-moving D-vel büszkélkedhetünk...amiben jobb lehet az előbbieknél, az a védekezése. Two-way terén mindenképp jobb az előbbieknél, ha rangsorolni kéne, én Gardiner, Percy, Blacker sorrendben állítanám fel őket, de ebből bármi lehet. A lényeg, hogy el vagyunk látva e téren is, sőt, tényleg kimondhatjuk, hogy a bőség zavara uralkodik, ami mindenképp jó.
Őt is nagyon sokan írták hozzánk, szintén Leafs fan.

Pat Morris says that the camp believes Toronto is a perfect fit, the only thing that they need to discuss is money and term, IF Toronto is interested.
He even said he expects Toronto to meet him face-to-face on July 1st since his office is in Oakville.
I can't believe how open he was about it. Makes me think they are trying to drum up the price.
EDIT: Of course he did say all teams will be heard out, but he specifically indicated that Toronto is a perfect fit after he sat down with Brad and discussed the city, the system, the powerplay, the team, the direction, the coach, etc. etc.

Nyilván akkor körvonalazódik ki teljesen, de már az adott évben is látható egy kép. A 2003-as Draftot már akkor tudták, hogy űberbrutál lesz, az is lett...utána jött Ovechkin, Crosby, Toewsék, majd Stamkos, Tavares...
Szerintem rohadt nagy baromság, hogy az idei nem jó draft....max annyiban különbözik az eddigiektől, hogy nincs egyértelmű No. 1, de még Top 3 sem, azért, mert nagyon sok nagyon jó van az elején, és az első 30 is hasonló erőt képvisel. Ez viszont nem jelenti azt, hogy gyenge a draft.
Itt már nem Gonchárban kell mérni, meg Preds 1st-ben...hanem Landeskog/Strome/Couturier + Biggs/Jenner/Jensen/Puempel párosban..bármelyik kettő többet ér, mint Mikko.
Egyébként én ma nem nagyon leszek a draft alatt szerintem..bár lehet a végére hazaérek. Megint kötelező ivás van.
Kicsit félve is megyek el itthonról. Bár ha Burke még M.Richardsért sem volt hajlandó beáldozni Kulemint, akkor az azért jelent valamit..mindenképp megnyugtató.
Ja, erre írták, hogy visszatér a nyugdíjból Gretzky és Orr, behúzzuk Jagrt + Stamkost és kezdődhet is a szezon.

Hatalmas ez a fazon..főleg 5:40-től mikor megkérdezik tőle, hogy mit szól a jövő évi menetrendhez..:-DDD Azt amúgy én még nem nagyon néztem át, csak annyit láttam, hogy egyszer játszunk 8 meccset zsinórban otthon, majd kb ugyan ennyit idegenben..és ilyen nem egyszer van az egész évben, szóval érdekes. Ja és valami októbert 19-én jön a Winnipeg, a szezont szintén a Habsal nyitjuk és zárjuk.
Visszatérve az interjúhoz. Ebből nagyon úgy jön le, hogy bármire számíthatunk ma. Vagy csak simán ülünk és kihúzzuk a 25. és 30. pickünket az elérhető legjobb playával, vagy jobb pozícióba cserélünk az egyik 1st-el, de még az is lehet, hogy eladjuk az összes pickünket egy kész játékosért, viszont annak a playának nagyon jónak kell lennie.
Hát érdekes lesz, szerintem egyébként max lejjebb cserélünk, vagy csak kihúzzuk a saját pickjeinket.
