Stamkos said his lower-body injury is something he's been dealing with for a while and got to a point where he couldn't go anymore. "It’s been a work in progress. Hopefully tomorrow when I wake up it still feels good and we’ll go from there."
Cooper said McDonagh and Rutta still a ways away from coming back. Not skating yet.

Közben a szopatós menetrend meglátszik a játékunkon is már.
21 nap alatt 14 meccs nem éppen normális dolog. A lábak se mozognak már nagyon, a sérülésveszély is egyre nagyobb.
Ezt a Jets ellenit azért még jó lenne valahogy behúzni az all szar break előtt...

Jó lenne, de a ruszkiknál sose lehet tudni, melyik meccsen varázsolnak. A másik ágon meg Kanada kezd összeállni, míg a finneknek volt már pár gyengébb meccsük.

“Last season, our record outpaced our play, outperformed our play,” BriseBois said. “This year has kind of been the opposite, where our record has lagged behind our play on the ice. But if we keep playing the way we’ve been playing, that should correct itself, and it would bode well for the second half of the season. And we’ll end up in the springtime where we want to be — one of the eight teams in the East participating in the playoffs.”
Since day one of training camp, BriseBois & Co. have made clear their plan to alter their style of play a bit, blending their “high-octane” offense with less risk and becoming more responsible defensively. And BriseBois has seen areas of growth, from protecting the middle of the ice in the defensive zone to cutting down on turnovers. (“Every single player on our team who was on our team last year is turning the puck over at a reduced rate compared to last season,” he pointed out.) The Lightning, often among the league-leaders in minor penalties (including finishing No. 1 the last two years), are now in the middle of the pack, a plus-six differential from being a minus-3 a year ago. “That’s a huge swing,” said the GM.
It’s harder to improve when we’ve been one of the contending teams since 2013-14. How do you improve on that team? The coaches spent a lot of (time) in the offseason identifying areas that we need to be better. Once we’ve done that, training camp starts the process where now we’re practicing differently and putting an emphasis on different areas of the game — those are the areas we need to get better. It’s a process, and results didn’t follow right away, the performance didn’t follow right away. But the (coaches) have kept the players believing, kept the players working hard, kept the players competing hard. A lot of credit goes to the players — they’re the ones that are doing it, and kudos to them and the leadership group. But some of that credit should go to the coaching staff.
BriseBois’ philosophy on acquiring rentals at the deadline
I think it’s a case by case basis. A number of variables go into these discussions: your team, your competition, where you are in the standings, cap space, contract. A lot of things go into it: the player, the person, the contract. But, very recently, over the break, I looked into the trade deadline over the last 10 years, and there’s not many good deals out there. It’s not a great time to be buying. You’re buying at a premium, and it rarely pays off. So my philosophy is that it’s not a good time to buy, but it’s one of the few times where you can actually buy. There are not many times in the year where guys are moving NHL players who can contribute today without you having to take anything out of your lineup.

Those are called “good problems” — players that play really well and that you get to keep on your team. Those are good problems, but they need to be managed nonetheless. We’ve said all along this will be a tough summer managing all these contracts. We’re cognizant of that, and we’ll keep that in the decision-making process going forward. But now we’re really focused on getting the most out of this season, having a chance to have a really good season and hope to go on a magical run. We’ll do everything we can for that to happen.
More than likely, we won’t be talking contract with anyone until after the season.
On if BriseBois would like to see the NHL participate in the Olympics or another best-on-best tournament
(Laughs.) I’ve only been a GM for 14 months, but I know enough not to answer that question. I don’t want Jeff Vinik to have to pay any fines.

Nagyon megérdemelték a németek ezt a győzelmet. A cseheket gyakorlatilag csak a millió PP hozta vissza a meccsbe. Az az utolsó kimondottan vicces volt már. 40 percig egy csapat játszott, de az masszívan, jól összerakva.
